New bike arrives
They keep riding their current bike right up until the new one lands.
New plan starts
As soon as your bike is delivered, your new plan starts and old plan is paused.
Send the old one back
Within 7 days, free - home collection or a prepaid drop-off label, your choice.
What does exchanging cost?
One fair rule, three situations - real numbers on a 16" bike (£17.83/month, 12-month plan).

The typical exchange: plan done, swap free, new plan starts on the bigger bike.
Your months are simply re-billed at the rate matching the time you actually kept the bike. Typically a one-off £14-£23 adjustment - and never more than finishing your plan would have cost.
Theo, an early growth spurt
No fee, no restart - a one-off adjustment because 8 months earns the 6-month price.
Every bike stays at least 6 months (you pay the 6-month rate for them). Wrong size? That's different - swap free within 30 days, nothing changes.
Priya, wrong size ordered
Wrong size in the first 30 days swaps completely free - as if you'd ordered right first time.
Why this beats buying
A child rides six bike sizes between 18 months and 14. Buy them all and that's £2,740 of bikes - each one outgrown, each one to resell.
Subscribe and the exchange is the product: always the right size, nothing to sell on, and the swap itself costs nothing.

Exchange questions
Any bike in our range - most families go up a size, but you can switch brand or move sideways if the fit's right. The finder or the size guide will confirm what fits before you choose.
If your size is briefly out of stock, you can join the waitlist and keep the current bike - at your normal rate - until it's ready. Nothing is re-billed until the new bike ships.
A quick wipe-down is appreciated but honestly not required - mud, scuffs and stickers are normal life. Our workshop strips and refurbishes every returned bike anyway.
It goes to our London workshop for a full refurbishment - new consumables, safety check, deep clean - and then out to its next family. That circular loop is why premium bikes cost a fraction of buying new here.
Yes - that's how it's designed. The new bike arrives first, and you have 14 days from its delivery to send the old one back. They're never without a bike.
