Our pre-dispatch bike checks

Every bike dispatched from our warehouse goes through the same rigorous pre-dispatch checks to make sure they are in full working order for your child. 

  1. 1Frame

    • Frame condition is good, with no paint chips or marks
    • Frame and fork checked for straightness and damage

  2. 2Handlebars and stem

    • Handlebar and stem set up correctly, with bolts set to the recommended torque
    • Handlebar and stem checked for rotation under load

  3. 3Headset

    • Headset turns freely with no play

  4. 4Brakes

    • Brake lever position correct and set to the recommended torque
    • Brake calipers set up correctly and set to the recommended torque
    • Brakes operate smoothly and correctly

  5. 5Wheels and tyres

    • Wheel hubs rotate freely with no play
    • Wheels are round and true
    • Tyres seated properly and inflated to the manufacturer's recommended pressure

  6. 6Pedals, chain and crank

    • Bottom bracket rotates freely with no play
    • Chain runs smoothly and the chainring is fixed correctly
    • Pedal threads greased and checked (pedals are packed for you to fit)

  7. 7Gears (where fitted)

    • Gear lever position correct and set to the recommended torque
    • Rear derailleur fitted at the correct torque, with cable clamp bolt and stop screws set
    • Rear derailleur shifts smoothly and correctly

  8. 8Saddle and seat post

    • Saddle fixed correctly to the seat post
    • Seat post set within its minimum insertion mark

  9. 9Reflectors, bell and accessories

    • Front and rear reflectors, wheel reflectors and bell checked and packed
    • Any accessories you ordered checked and packed

  10. 10Final sign-off

    • Bike cleaned and given a final ride check
    • Inspection signed off by our mechanic and recorded against your order
  11. Every inspection is recorded against your order, so you know exactly what was checked before your bike reached you.
