Most asked

What if the bike doesn't fit when it arrives?

Our 30-day fit promise covers you: if the size isn't right, we swap it free within 30 days of delivery - no fee, no adjustment, no quibble.

When am I charged?

Your first month is paid at checkout, then monthly on your saved card. If you exchange, the new bike's rate starts the day it's delivered - never before.

What happens if something breaks?

Tell us through your account's repair form - describe the issue and add photos or a short video. We reply within 1 working day: small fixes get the part posted free with a video guide; bigger jobs get a replacement bike and a courier swap. Cost to you: £0.

What counts as normal wear and tear?

Everything that comes from actually riding: scuffs, chips, worn tyres, brake pads and chains. That's all on us. We only ever talk to you about damage in rare cases of genuine misuse, and we're fair about it.

What does exchanging early actually cost?

No exchange fee, ever. If you exchange before your term ends, the months you've had are re-billed at the rate of the plan length you actually used - typically £14-£23 - and it's capped so it can never cost more than finishing your plan. Worked examples are on the Exchanges page.

How do I end my subscription?

In your account, choose End subscription. We show you exactly where you stand first - then email your return pack with the prepaid label and instructions.

Choosing a bike

What if the bike doesn't fit when it arrives?

Our 30-day fit promise covers you: if the size isn't right, we swap it free within 30 days of delivery - no fee, no adjustment, no quibble.

How do I know which size fits?

Bike sizing goes by inside leg, not age - it's the only measurement that guarantees their feet reach the ground. Our finder checks it in 30 seconds, or the size guide shows every range. We always size for today, never for growing into: a too-big bike is harder to control and slower to learn on.

What ages do you cover?

From around 18 months (a first 12" balance bike) to 14 years (full-size 26" wheels) - six stages, one subscription, exchanged as they grow.

Which brands do you carry?

We carry woom - premium, ultra-light bikes designed specifically for children. The Frog range is coming soon.

Can I choose the colour?

Yes - each bike's page shows the colours currently in stock, and you pick at checkout.

Are helmets and accessories included?

Not at the moment - the subscription covers the bike itself. We're looking at an accessories range.

Plans & pricing

When am I charged?

Your first month is paid at checkout, then monthly on your saved card. If you exchange, the new bike's rate starts the day it's delivered - never before.

How do the plans work?

Pick a minimum term - 6, 12 or 18 months (24 months on the biggest sizes). Committing longer means a lower monthly price. After your minimum term the plan simply rolls monthly at the same rate, and you can exchange or return free whenever you like.

What's included in every plan?

Repairs and normal wear, free delivery and free returns, a free exchange to the next size at the end of your term, and no deposit or joining fee. The full price grid is on our Plans & pricing page.

Is there a deposit or joining fee?

No. You pay your first month at checkout and that's it.

What happens after my minimum term ends?

Nothing changes unless you want it to: the plan rolls monthly at the same price. Exchange to the next size free, keep riding, or return and end - all without fees.

Can I pay for the whole term upfront?

Not currently - Wheelies is monthly only, which keeps it flexible for you.

What happens if my payment fails?

We'll retry automatically and email you a link to update your card in your account. If anything's tricky, just get in touch - we're humans about it.

Delivery

How quickly will the bike arrive?

In-stock bikes are typically delivered within days - you'll see the delivery estimate before you confirm, and you pick the delivery day for exchanges.

How much is delivery?

Free. Returns are free too - always.

Does the bike arrive assembled?

It arrives ready to ride bar five minutes: straighten the bars, check the saddle height, done. A simple guide is in the box and our fitting guide walks you through saddle setup.

Where do you deliver?

Across the UK.

Riding, care & repairs

What happens if something breaks?

Tell us through your account's repair form - describe the issue and add photos or a short video. We reply within 1 working day: small fixes get the part posted free with a video guide; bigger jobs get a replacement bike and a courier swap. Cost to you: £0.

What counts as normal wear and tear?

Everything that comes from actually riding: scuffs, chips, worn tyres, brake pads and chains. That's all on us. We only ever talk to you about damage in rare cases of genuine misuse, and we're fair about it.

Are punctures covered?

Yes - punctures are part of riding. Request a repair and we'll sort it.

Do I need to service the bike?

No servicing schedule, no bike shop visits. Keep the tyres pumped and let us know if anything feels off - maintenance is our job.

What about theft or loss?

Get in touch straight away and we'll talk you through it. Theft isn't covered as standard, so treat the bike as you would your own - a good lock helps. We're working on an optional insurance add-on.

Can the bike get muddy and well-used?

Absolutely - it's a kids bike, that's the point. You don't even need to clean it before returning or exchanging.

Exchanges

What does exchanging early actually cost?

No exchange fee, ever. If you exchange before your term ends, the months you've had are re-billed at the rate of the plan length you actually used - typically £14-£23 - and it's capped so it can never cost more than finishing your plan. Worked examples are on the Exchanges page.

When can I exchange?

Whenever they've outgrown it. At or after the end of your minimum term it's completely free. Before that, there's no exchange fee - just a fair one-off adjustment.

Can I exchange to any bike, or just the next size?

Any bike in the range. Most families go up a size, but you can switch model or brand if the fit's right - the finder will confirm.

What if the size I need is out of stock?

You'll see live availability when you request the exchange. If your size is briefly out, join the waitlist and keep the current bike at your normal rate until it's ready.

Do we keep the old bike until the new one arrives?

Yes - no bike-less gap. The new bike arrives, then you have 14 days to send the old one back with the prepaid label we email you. The old bike's billing stops the day your new plan starts.

How does returning the old bike work?

Once your new bike's delivered we email your return pack - prepaid label, packing tips, drop-off options. Any bike box works, and no cleaning is needed.

Ending & returns

How do I end my subscription?

In your account, choose End subscription. We show you exactly where you stand first - then email your return pack with the prepaid label and instructions.

What does ending early cost?

The same fair maths as an exchange: your months are re-billed at the rate of the plan length you actually used, capped at what finishing your plan would have cost. After your minimum term, ending is completely free.

When does billing stop?

The moment the returned bike is scanned at the parcel point. Any final adjustment is only charged then too - from the saved card you already pay with. Until it's scanned, nothing changes, so there's no pressure.

How long do I have to send the bike back?

14 days from requesting the return. The prepaid label and packing tips are in your email.

Can I buy the bike instead of returning it?

Not at the moment - our model works because every bike keeps moving to the next family. If we introduce a purchase option, subscribers will hear about it first.

What happens to bikes when they come back?

They come to our London workshop, get fully checked and refurbished, and go out to the next family. Bikes that reach the end of the road are recycled - nothing goes to waste.

Account & payments

How do I manage my subscription?

Everything lives in your account: request an exchange, end your subscription, request a repair, update your card and address, and see every payment.

How do I update my payment card?

Account, then payment method. Future payments switch to the new card automatically.

We're moving house - what do I need to do?

Just update your address in your account before your next delivery or return. If a move changes what you need, exchanges work the same as always.

How do I contact you?

Email hello@wheelies.co.uk and a human replies within 1 working day. For anything about a repair, the account form with photos gets you the fastest answer.

About Wheelies

Who's behind Wheelies?

Wheelies is by Baboodle, the London family-run company behind premium baby equipment rental - run from our own south London warehouse, where every bike is checked and refurbished by our team.

Why rent instead of buying?

Children outgrow six bikes before they stop growing. Renting means always having the right size without buying, storing and reselling each one - our journey page shows the full numbers side by side so you can judge for yourself.

Is renting really more sustainable?

Yes - it's the whole model. One bike serves several families across its life, kept on the road by our workshop, then recycled at end of life. The most sustainable bike is the one that never stops being ridden.
